This weekend, members of the AHEPA Family came from all over North America to celebrate Sons of Pericles Past Supreme President Alec Economakis and his two terms served. Guests traveled to Ocean City, Maryland to celebrate with a Testimonial Dinner at the Aloft Ocean City hotel. The weekend included a day at the beach and nights out at two of Ocean City's most famous beach clubs as well.

Throughout his two terms as Supreme President, Brother Alec was a constant source of support to every branch of the AHEPA Family tree, and that was reflected in the words of the many people who spoke about their time serving with him or how his work had affected them.
The evening began with a warm welcome from the testimonial committee before Supreme President Basili Ronstadt, the event's Master of Ceremonies, took over and began the night's program.

Maids of Athena Past Grand President Maria Ana Pantelous presented Brother Alec with a gold olive branch to represent virtues of the Goddess Athena, peace, victory, and unity. PGP Maria Ana pointed out that these were three qualities that the SOP had been lucky to have in a leader before praising the efforts of PSP Alec in the unification of both youth orders of the AHEPA Family.
Following this presentation, District 10 Past District Governor James Thomas, District Governor Othon Economopoulos, and District Lieutenant Governor Merek Vincent presented Alec with an award for his years of service and dedication to the Order.
After dinner, the speaking program began with speeches from representatives of Pythagoras Chapter 9 (Washington, DC) of the Sons of Pericles, Arthur Dedoulis and Leonidas Tsirigotis. Both brothers spoke of Alec's commitment to the Sons, his heritage, and his church, and cited him as the reason they were both so involved in the organization.

The boys were followed by a presentation of a certificate of merit from DOP PGG Kathy Matrakas on behalf of DOP Hermione Chapter 11 of Washington, DC as well as a speech and presentation of a book by District Three Governor Manos Sakiotis.

Following presentations by the District, the 2024-25 Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge presented Brother Alec with a personalized basketball jersey in honor of his two years and his love for the sport. The Maids of Athena Grand Lodge presented Brother Alec with a football jersey from Florida State University, Alec's alma mater. Both jerseys bore the number 82, as Brother Alec is the 82nd Supreme President of the Sons of Pericles.

Sons of Pericles Past Supreme President Ryan Marinos read letters from MOA PGP Ally Tsenekos and DOP PGP Marianthi Treppiedi, who both served alongside Alec, and then the crowd watched videos from DOP PGP Margaret Dritsas and AHEPA Supreme Treasurer Marshall Monsell III that praised Alec for a job well done. PSP Ryan also spoke at length about working with Alec as his vice President and stated the importance of having dedicated members like Alec in the SOP.
AHEPA Supreme Advisor to the SOP, Ted Vittas highlighted Alec's work in preparation for 2026's SOP Centennial Celebration in Manchester, New Hampshire, as well as many of Alec's accomplishments in the SOP before turning the microphone over to the Testimonial Committee. The testimonial committee briefly spoke about Alec's dedication and wanting to support his project before presenting him with a check for $1000 to cover a Heritage level donation for the SOP Centennial, along with a polished box for his SOP 100 challenge coin.

Alec's mother, Lili Economakis, brought the entire audience to tears as she told stories of how far Alec has come from a young boy who didn't talk much to one of the most extroverted SOP Presidents in history, and after that, SOP PSP Paul Pavlakos, a mentor to Alec, gave a keynote address to be remembered. A final speech by Brother Alec, thanking everybody for their kind words and for joining him, concluded the evening.
